What is Serve 1st Sunday?
Jesus' Example
Jesus said that came, "not to be served, but to serve and give His life as a ransom for many" (Matthew 20:28). Everywhere He went He was moved by compassion people's suffering. He didn't just feel bad for them, He did something practical to help them!
Real Needs
The needs in our city abound! Our goal each month is to identify and area of need, increase awareness of that need, then do something practical together to meet that need. God can use whatever you have to make a real difference.
Our Heart
Here at the Gathering we don't want to just talk about Jesus, we want to be like Him. That's why the 1st Sunday of every month we don't gather for church but rather to go out into the community to share God's love practically to those who need it most.

As Followers of Jesus, our identity is rooted in Christ and established as children of God. Our purpose is born out of that identity. But we are saturated in a world that seems focused on our sexual identity and redefining the Creator’s work. How do we navigate this tender topic in the workplace, the classroom, the family room, and in the church? The times we are living in are confusing for many and the suffering grows in silence. This Serve First, we desire to have a genuinely “Compassionate Discussion” on this important topic. It is our hope to seek the Holy Spirit for healing, equipping, understanding, and LOVE.
