God’s Not Done With You Yet

If you’ve been following along in our journey of discovering Jesus in the Bible, you know God has already done so much for us. He chose us before creation to make us holy and blameless in love. He sent Jesus to redeem and forgive us through His death on the cross so He could adopt us as His children and accept us completely. He revealed His will to us, gave us an inheritance, sealed us with His Spirit, and guaranteed us for all eternity!

God didn’t do all of that just to abandon us now. Paul tells us, “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Phil. 1:6). Let that profoundly comforting truth sink in for a moment!

God already decided He wanted you. He gave up His Son and paid the ultimate price to redeem you. He already demonstrated His unconditional love to the fullest extent. Since He was willing to do all that before we turned to Him, we can be confident that He will bring what He started to completion. God’s not finished, and He’s not going to quit.

Because God isn’t finished with us, we can be assured of good things to come. He is working in us and will continue to transform us more and more into His likeness until Jesus comes back for us or we go to be with Him.

We are all still a work in progress. The struggles and challenges of life are real, and the failures are often frequent. But, instead of getting discouraged by the seeming lack of progress in our own lives or the lives of others, let’s be confident that God is still at work in us by His Spirit.

This should fill our hearts with gratitude and joy – Gratitude for all that God has done and joy for what’s still to come!

Remember, God didn’t bring you this far to give up on you now!
