Why God Loves Impossible Odds

The Lord said to Gideon, “You have too many men. I cannot deliver Midian into their hands, or Israel would boast against me, ‘My own strength has saved me.’ – Judges 7:2

Most people have heard about the story of Gideon. He was an unlikely and reluctant  hero that God called to deliver Israel from their enemies, the Midianites. Gideon was facing near 4 to 1 odds. He was going up against 120,000 soldiers with just 32,000. And if that wasn’t hard enough, God then whittled his army down to just 300 men.

Why would God do that? Why would he purposefully take Gideon from bad odds to impossible ones? Well, look at what God told him, “The Lord said to Gideon, “You have too many men. I cannot deliver Midian into their hands, or Israel would boast against me, ‘My own strength has saved me.’ You see, God often lets us experience the impossible so that He can perform the miraculous. When He does, then we know for sure that it was God that brought about our deliverance and it builds our faith and trust in Him.

Have you found yourself in an impossible situation lately? Be encouraged that you are positioned for a miracle. Trust God and cry out to Him for deliverance. He may just work a miracle in your life today.
