He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, 2 who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. 3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.<br>Greetings and Doxology<br>4&nbsp;John,<br>To the seven churches&nbsp;in the province of Asia:<br>Grace and peace to you&nbsp;from him who is, and who was, and who is to come,&nbsp;and from the seven spirits[a]&nbsp;before his throne,&nbsp;5&nbsp;and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness,&nbsp;the firstborn from the dead,&nbsp;and the ruler of the kings of the earth.<br>To him who loves us&nbsp;and has freed us from our sins by his blood,&nbsp;6&nbsp;and has made us to be a kingdom and priests&nbsp;to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.<br>7&nbsp;“Look, he is coming with the clouds,”[b]<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; and “every eye will see him,<br>even those who pierced him”;<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.”[c]<br>So shall it be! Amen.<br>8&nbsp;“I am the Alpha and the Omega,”&nbsp;says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come,&nbsp;the Almighty.”<br>John’s Vision of Christ<br>9&nbsp;I, John,&nbsp;your brother and companion in the suffering&nbsp;and kingdom&nbsp;and patient endurance&nbsp;that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God&nbsp;and the testimony of Jesus.&nbsp;10&nbsp;On the Lord’s Day&nbsp;I was in the Spirit,&nbsp;and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet,&nbsp;11&nbsp;which said:&nbsp;“Write on a scroll what you see&nbsp;and send it to the seven churches:&nbsp;to Ephesus,&nbsp;Smyrna,&nbsp;Pergamum,&nbsp;Thyatira,&nbsp;Sardis,&nbsp;Philadelphia&nbsp;and Laodicea.”<br>12&nbsp;I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands,&nbsp;13&nbsp;and among the lampstands&nbsp;was someone like a son of man,[d]&nbsp;dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet&nbsp;and with a golden sash around his chest.&nbsp;14&nbsp;The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire.&nbsp;15&nbsp;His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace,&nbsp;and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters.&nbsp;16&nbsp;In his right hand he held seven stars,&nbsp;and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword.&nbsp;His face was like the sun&nbsp;shining in all its brilliance.<br>17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. 18 I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.<br><b><br>Scripture: Revelation 5:1-14<br>Topic: Jesus As the Lamb</b><br><br>Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?” 3 But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. 4 I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. 5 Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”<br>6&nbsp;Then I saw a Lamb,&nbsp;looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures&nbsp;and the elders.&nbsp;The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes,&nbsp;which are the seven spirits[a]&nbsp;of God sent out into all the earth.&nbsp;7&nbsp;He went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne.&nbsp;8&nbsp;And when he had taken it, the four living creatures&nbsp;and the twenty-four elders&nbsp;fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp&nbsp;and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers&nbsp;of God’s people.&nbsp;9&nbsp;And they sang a new song, saying:<br>“You are worthy&nbsp;to take the scroll<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; and to open its seals,<br>because you were slain,<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; and with your blood you purchased for God<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.<br>10&nbsp;You have made them to be a kingdom and priests&nbsp;to serve our God,<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; and they will reign[b] on the earth.”<br>11&nbsp;Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand.&nbsp;They encircled the throne and the living creatures&nbsp;and the elders.&nbsp;12&nbsp;In a loud voice they were saying:<br>“Worthy is the Lamb,&nbsp;who was slain,<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; and honor and glory and praise!”<br>13&nbsp;Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth&nbsp;and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:<br>“To him who sits on the throne&nbsp;and to the Lamb<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; be praise and honor and glory and power,<br>for ever and ever!”<br>14 The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.<b><br><br>Scripture: Revelation 21:1-22:21<br>Topic: Jesus is the Bridegroom</b><br><br>Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,”[a] for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[b] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”<br>5&nbsp;He who was seated on the throne&nbsp;said, “I am making everything new!”&nbsp;Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”<br>6&nbsp;He said to me: “It is done.&nbsp;I am the Alpha and the Omega,&nbsp;the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost&nbsp;from the spring of the water of life.&nbsp;7&nbsp;Those who are victorious&nbsp;will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.&nbsp;8&nbsp;But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur.&nbsp;This is the second death.”<br>The New Jerusalem, the Bride of the Lamb<br>9&nbsp;One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues&nbsp;came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the bride,&nbsp;the wife of the Lamb.”&nbsp;10&nbsp;And he carried me away&nbsp;in the Spirit&nbsp;to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.&nbsp;11&nbsp;It shone with the glory of God,&nbsp;and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper,&nbsp;clear as crystal.&nbsp;12&nbsp;It had a great, high wall with twelve gates,&nbsp;and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel.&nbsp;13&nbsp;There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west.&nbsp;14&nbsp;The wall of the city had twelve foundations,&nbsp;and on them were the names of the twelve apostles&nbsp;of the Lamb.<br>15&nbsp;The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod&nbsp;of gold to measure the city, its gates&nbsp;and its walls.&nbsp;16&nbsp;The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia[c]&nbsp;in length, and as wide and high as it is long.&nbsp;17&nbsp;The angel measured the wall using human&nbsp;measurement, and it was 144 cubits[d]&nbsp;thick.[e]&nbsp;18&nbsp;The wall was made of jasper,&nbsp;and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass.&nbsp;19&nbsp;The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone.&nbsp;The first foundation was jasper,&nbsp;the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald,&nbsp;20&nbsp;the fifth onyx, the sixth ruby,&nbsp;the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth turquoise, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.[f]&nbsp;21&nbsp;The twelve gates&nbsp;were twelve pearls,&nbsp;each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass.<br>22&nbsp;I did not see a temple&nbsp;in the city, because the Lord God Almighty&nbsp;and the Lamb&nbsp;are its temple.&nbsp;23&nbsp;The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God&nbsp;gives it light,&nbsp;and the Lamb&nbsp;is its lamp.&nbsp;24&nbsp;The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it.&nbsp;25&nbsp;On no day will its gates&nbsp;ever be shut,&nbsp;for there will be no night there.&nbsp;26&nbsp;The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it.&nbsp;27&nbsp;Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful,&nbsp;but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.<br>Eden Restored<br>22&nbsp;Then the angel showed me the river&nbsp;of the water of life,&nbsp;as clear as crystal,&nbsp;flowing&nbsp;from the throne of God and of the Lamb&nbsp;2&nbsp;down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life,&nbsp;bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.&nbsp;3&nbsp;No longer will there be any curse.&nbsp;The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him.&nbsp;4&nbsp;They will see his face,&nbsp;and his name will be on their foreheads.&nbsp;5&nbsp;There will be no more night.&nbsp;They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light.&nbsp;And they will reign for ever and ever.<br>John and the Angel<br>6&nbsp;The angel said to me,&nbsp;“These words are trustworthy and true.&nbsp;The Lord, the God who inspires the prophets,&nbsp;sent his angel&nbsp;to show his servants the things that must soon take place.”<br>7&nbsp;“Look, I am coming soon!&nbsp;Blessed&nbsp;is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll.”<br>8&nbsp;I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things.&nbsp;And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet&nbsp;of the angel who had been showing them to me.&nbsp;9&nbsp;But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your fellow prophets and with all who keep the words of this scroll.&nbsp;Worship God!”<br>10&nbsp;Then he told me, “Do not seal up&nbsp;the words of the prophecy of this scroll,&nbsp;because the time is near.&nbsp;11&nbsp;Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy.”<br>Epilogue: Invitation and Warning<br>12&nbsp;“Look, I am coming soon!&nbsp;My reward is with me,&nbsp;and I will give to each person according to what they have done.&nbsp;13&nbsp;I am the Alpha and the Omega,&nbsp;the First and the Last,&nbsp;the Beginning and the End.<br>14&nbsp;“Blessed are those who wash their robes,&nbsp;that they may have the right to the tree of life&nbsp;and may go through the gates&nbsp;into the city.&nbsp;15&nbsp;Outside&nbsp;are the dogs,&nbsp;those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.<br>16&nbsp;“I, Jesus,&nbsp;have sent my angel&nbsp;to give you[g]&nbsp;this testimony for the churches.&nbsp;I am the Root&nbsp;and the Offspring of David,&nbsp;and the bright Morning Star.”<br>17&nbsp;The Spirit&nbsp;and the bride&nbsp;say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.<br>18&nbsp;I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll:&nbsp;If anyone adds anything to them,&nbsp;God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll.&nbsp;19&nbsp;And if anyone takes words away&nbsp;from this scroll of prophecy,&nbsp;God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life&nbsp;and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.<br>20&nbsp;He who testifies to these things&nbsp;says,&nbsp;“Yes, I am coming soon.”<br>Amen. But now I find that I must write about something else, urging you to defend the faith that God has entrusted once for all time to his holy people. 4 I say this because some ungodly people have wormed their way into your churches, saying that God’s marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives. The condemnation of such people was recorded long ago, for they have denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.<br><br>5 So I want to remind you, though you already know these things, that Jesus[b] first rescued the nation of Israel from Egypt, but later he destroyed those who did not remain faithful. 6 And I remind you of the angels who did not stay within the limits of authority God gave them but left the place where they belonged. God has kept them securely chained in prisons of darkness, waiting for the great day of judgment. 7 And don’t forget Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns, which were filled with immorality and every kind of sexual perversion. Those cities were destroyed by fire and serve as a warning of the eternal fire of God’s judgment.<br><br>8 In the same way, these people—who claim authority from their dreams—live immoral lives, defy authority, and scoff at supernatural beings.[c] 9 But even Michael, one of the mightiest of the angels,[d] did not dare accuse the devil of blasphemy, but simply said, “The Lord rebuke you!” (This took place when Michael was arguing with the devil about Moses’ body.) 10 But these people scoff at things they do not understand. Like unthinking animals, they do whatever their instincts tell them, and so they bring about their own destruction. 11 What sorrow awaits them! For they follow in the footsteps of Cain, who killed his brother. Like Balaam, they deceive people for money. And like Korah, they perish in their rebellion.<br><br>12 When these people eat with you in your fellowship meals commemorating the Lord’s love, they are like dangerous reefs that can shipwreck you.[e] They are like shameless shepherds who care only for themselves. They are like clouds blowing over the land without giving any rain. They are like trees in autumn that are doubly dead, for they bear no fruit and have been pulled up by the roots. 13 They are like wild waves of the sea, churning up the foam of their shameful deeds. They are like wandering stars, doomed forever to blackest darkness.<br><br>14 Enoch, who lived in the seventh generation after Adam, prophesied about these people. He said, “Listen! The Lord is coming with countless thousands of his holy ones 15 to execute judgment on the people of the world. He will convict every person of all the ungodly things they have done and for all the insults that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”[f]<br><br>16 These people are grumblers and complainers, living only to satisfy their desires. They brag loudly about themselves, and they flatter others to get what they want.<br><br>A Call to Remain Faithful<br>17 But you, my dear friends, must remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ predicted. 18 They told you that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to satisfy their ungodly desires. 19 These people are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They follow their natural instincts because they do not have God’s Spirit in them.<br><br>20 But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit,[g] 21 and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.<br><br>22 And you must show mercy to[h] those whose faith is wavering. 23 Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still others,[i] but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives.[j]<br><br>A Prayer of Praise<br>24 Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault. 25 All glory to him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. 4 We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy.[b]<br>Living in the Light<br>5&nbsp;This is the message we heard from Jesus[c]&nbsp;and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.&nbsp;6&nbsp;So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.&nbsp;7&nbsp;But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.<br>8&nbsp;If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.&nbsp;9&nbsp;But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.&nbsp;10&nbsp;If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.<br>2 My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. Paul addressed the issue of counterfeit believers in Philippians 3:3, “For we are the true circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.”<br><br>Here are three marks of authentic believers: Spirit-led service, joyful reliance, confident unconfidence.<br><br><b>Spirit-led Service:&nbsp;</b>The word for worship in this verse has nothing to do with singing or music. It’s the Greek word “to serve” and it refers to something done for God’s sake by the power of the Spirit. Counterfeit Christians use the church as a means to serve themselves (good teaching, engaging music, and free childcare). Genuine believers live a life of service to God through the power of the Holy Spirit. <br><br><b>Joyful Reliance:&nbsp;</b>The word “rejoice” here is literally “boast” and conveys the idea of a deep and joyful confidence. It’s like the pride one feels in their country, or the joy in seeing your kids or grandkids succeed. Fake Christians tend to find satisfaction in self-reliance. Genuine Christians find a deep and joyful satisfaction in relying completely on Jesus. This radical Jesus-reliance leads us to the third mark of an authentic Christian.<br><br><b>Confidently unconfident:&nbsp;</b>The third mark of a genuine believer is that they place zero confidence in themselves. Because trust fully in Jesus, they actually feel more confident the less self-confidence they have. Counterfeit Christians are always trying to build their self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-reliance. Genuine believers on the other hand know that they can’t do anything without Jesus, have a healthy distrust of self and a absolute reliance on Christ <br><br><b><i>Let’s take an honest and careful look at our lives and determine if our faith is the genuine article or just a convincing counterfeit.</i></b>&nbsp;</div></div></div></div></div></section>]]></content:encoded>

It assures us that we are going to be safe under our physician’s care.&nbsp;<br><br>Can you imagine what it would be like if doctors didn’t abide by that oath? We would never be sure about their motives. Are they just doing what makes them the most money? Or are they using us as guinea pigs in a dangerous medical experiment? It would erode all confidence in the medical profession and result in people not getting the care they need.&nbsp;<br><br>In many ways, this is exactly what has happened with Christians in society. We forgot that we were also supposed to be living by an oath to “Do no harm.”<br><br>Paul tells us in Philippians 2:14-15, “Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.”<br><br>Just like doctors aren’t supposed to give lethal prescriptions or perform unnecessary surgeries, Christians aren’t supposed to complain or argue. When we grumble and complain, we are injecting toxic thoughts into the lives of those around us. When we argue and dispute, we are needlessly amputating relationships when we were supposed to bring healing.&nbsp;<br><br>As a result, the world no longer sees the church as a safe place to come and find healing for the hurts and maladies of life. When we grumble, complain, argue, and dispute, we erode the sacred trust that the world was supposed to have in the church. As a result, many people cannot find the prayer, care, or healing they need.&nbsp;<br><br>Let’s pay attention to what our words, attitudes, and actions are communicating to the world. Let’s endeavor to be blameless and harmless children of God that stand out like bright lights of love and graciousness in a world already darkened by disgruntledness and complaints.&nbsp;<br><br>Let’s take the Philippians 2:14 oath to do no harm!</div></div></div></div></div></section>]]></content:encoded>

How can that be a gift? Who would want that kind of a gift?”<br><br>The word “granted” in Greek comes from the root word “grace.” That means it’s more than just a gift; it's a gracious gift. So what makes suffering a gift, and why should we be happy to receive it? If you have time, read Philippians 1:12-26 for the full explanation, but here’s the condensed version.&nbsp;<br><br>First, Paul tells us that suffering is a gift because it causes us to be authentic witnesses of God’s grace. When we go through hard times, it causes us to cling to Jesus more seriously. It shows others how much we trust Jesus. When we experience God’s joy, peace, and comfort in the midst of suffering, it demonstrates the reality of His goodness in our lives.&nbsp;<br><br>Second, Paul says that when we suffer the loss of our comfort and convenience for the sake of others, it brings glory to Christ. Sacrificing our time, resources, schedule, or preferences for others is the only way not to be selfish. Think of it this way: without suffering, we’d miss one of the best ways to bring Jesus glory and find meaning in life bigger than ourselves.&nbsp;<br><br>Lastly, suffering is a gift because it proves we are genuinely saved. If this life is all we have, then suffering will literally rock our world. But for those of us who have the hope of eternal life in Christ, suffering can’t shake our confidence. In fact, it’s a reminder that this world is not our home, and success and comfort here is not our goal.&nbsp;<br><br>So next time you find yourself in difficult circumstances or have the opportunity to sacrifice for someone else’s benefit, see it as a gracious gift from God. It proves you’re saved, makes you a good witness, benefits others, and brings glory to God!<br><br>Thank God for the gift of suffering!</div></div></div></div></div></section>]]></content:encoded>

He revealed His will to us, gave us an inheritance, sealed us with His Spirit, and guaranteed us for all eternity!<br><br>God didn’t do all of that just to abandon us now. Paul tells us, “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Phil. 1:6). Let that profoundly comforting truth sink in for a moment!&nbsp;<br><br>God already decided He wanted you. He gave up His Son and paid the ultimate price to redeem you. He already demonstrated His unconditional love to the fullest extent. Since He was willing to do all that before we turned to Him, we can be confident that He will bring what He started to completion. God’s not finished, and He’s not going to quit.&nbsp;<br><br>Because God isn’t finished with us, we can be assured of good things to come. He is working in us and will continue to transform us more and more into His likeness until Jesus comes back for us or we go to be with Him.&nbsp;<br><br>We are all still a work in progress. The struggles and challenges of life are real, and the failures are often frequent. But, instead of getting discouraged by the seeming lack of progress in our own lives or the lives of others, let’s be confident that God is still at work in us by His Spirit.&nbsp;<br><br>This should fill our hearts with gratitude and joy – Gratitude for all that God has done and joy for what’s still to come!<br><br>Remember, God didn’t bring you this far to give up on you now!</div></div></div></div></div></section>]]></content:encoded>

I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in[a] Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. 10 I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.<br><br>12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.<br><br>Following Paul’s Example<br>15 All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. They are the big spiritual, eternal, and heavenly blessings! The ones that are perfect and last forever!<br><br>In Christ, your sins are forgiven, you are adopted into God’s family, you are fully accepted in Jesus, and indwelt by the Holy Spirit. You’ve been given an abundance of wisdom and knowledge so that you can navigate life in a way that pleases God. And you have an inheritance waiting for you in heaven.&nbsp;<br><br>God chose you to receive all these incredible blessings before He created anything. That means His blessings toward you are based on His mercy and grace, not on your merit or goodness. You never deserved God’s blessings, so you don’t have to worry about trying to keep them. You just have to keep trusting in Jesus because all your blessings are in Him.&nbsp;<br><br>Let’s take a moment and reflect on the incredible blessings that God has given us in Jesus.&nbsp;<br><br>Now, let’s bless God in return. Let’s declare how great He is. The message becomes muddled and turns into an ugly self-absorption instead of glorious selfless serving. Fortunately, Paul gives us three ways to build a God-glorifying, selfless self-esteem. In Galatians 6:2-5 he tells us,&nbsp;<br><br>“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. &nbsp;But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For each one shall bear his own load.”&nbsp;<br><br>So here are the three ways:<br><br>#1: Selfless self-esteem is built by caring for others, not by comparing myself with others. Our culture teaches us that our worth is measured in comparison to others. The Bible teaches that the value of our life is measured by our contribution to others. Paul says that it’s in caring that we fulfill the whole law of Christ, and in Col. 1:10, he tells us to “walk worthy of the Lord… being fruitful in every good work.”&nbsp;<br><br>#2: Selfless self-esteem is built by examining myself, not deceiving myself. The origin of the word esteem comes from the word “estimate.” Self-esteem isn’t possible without self-examination. Honesty with ourselves tends to produce humility about ourselves. It forces us to recognize that we need Jesus living in us to be truly loving toward others.&nbsp;<br><br>#3: Selfless self-esteem is built by bearing responsibility, not shrugging it. The word for “load” in vs. 5 is different from “burden” in vs. 2. Burden means an oppressive weight, whereas load means cargo, as in a ship's cargo. Jesus’ love for others is the cargo we’re designed to carry. Selfless caring for others is how we deliver our payload.&nbsp;<br><br>Rejoicing in Jesus’ love pouring out of our lives by the power of the Holy Spirit is what a selfless esteem looks like. It’s what Paul means when he says, “Then he will have rejoicing in himself alone.” Bearing one another's burdens, not comparing ourselves but examining ourselves, and delivering the cargo of Jesus’ love is what really builds biblical self-esteem.&nbsp;<br><br>How’s your selfless self-esteem today? </div></div></div></div></div></section>]]></content:encoded>

Do you get upset when people don’t do what they are supposed to? Or are you more of a “You do you” kind of person?&nbsp;<br><br>People often misunderstand God’s grace and approach it from either a perspective of legalism or license. But Paul shows us a different path, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” (Gal. 5:1)<br><br>Legalism involves following a rigid set of religious rules in order to earn and keep God’s favor. It’s a faulty belief that says you have to do right in order to be right with God. Legalistic believers often place heavy burdens on themselves and others. As a result, they tend to be critical of others or condemn themselves. &nbsp;<br><br>License involves using God's grace as an excuse for a self-indulgent life. It’s an “I’m free to be me because Jesus will forgive me” approach. Licentious people see God’s grace as a never-ending stream of tolerance instead of a catalyst for personal transformation. As a result, they tend to live without any repentance, change, or accountability. &nbsp; &nbsp;<br><br>Liberty, on the other hand, involves receiving God’s favor by faith and embracing a new life in Christ through the Spirit. Believers who understand biblical freedom don’t want to be prisoners of the past. They also don’t want to be bound by legalistic self-effort. Instead, they want to fully experience their new life of righteousness as a gift of the Holy Spirit!<br><br>Jesus didn’t set us free so that we’d have to keep earning His grace. He also didn’t set us free so that we could do whatever we wanted. He set us free so that we could experience new life!&nbsp;<br><br>Let’s move on from legalism and license and embrace true liberty today!</div></div></div></div></div></section>]]></content:encoded>

This is what we learn in Galatians 4:4-5, “But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.”&nbsp;<br><br>Here is the big idea for today: Jesus was born so that we could be adopted!&nbsp;<br><br>Paul dives deeper into this profound reality by telling us that Jesus was born of a human mother so that we could have a heavenly Father. Through His incarnation, Jesus bridged the gap between us and God. By joining the human family, Jesus opened the way for us to become a part of the divine family.&nbsp;<br><br>In addition, Paul tells us that Jesus was born under the law so that we could be set free from the law. He took responsibility for obeying the law perfectly on our behalf so that we could be freed from that impossible obligation. His sacrificial death atoned for our failures to obey, releasing us from an insurmountable debt we could never repay.<br><br>But God’s grace goes even further. Because we are now His children, God sends His Spirit into our hearts to cry out with our hearts, “Abba, Father!” Adoption isn’t a theory, it’s an experience. The very Spirit of God resonates in the very core of our being, that we are indeed God’s kids!<br><br>Let’s embrace the profound love of our Heavenly Father today. He brought us into His family through Jesus, not out of obligation or necessity but out of pure and perfect love.<br><br><b><i>Take a moment, sit quietly, and let the Holy Spirit cry out with your Spirit, “Abba, Father!”</i></b> </div></div></div></div></div></section>]]></content:encoded>

That means God’s not mad at us, and we are no longer living under His judgment.<br><br>Secondly, being “cross-ified” means we’ve left our old life behind. We are no longer trapped in a broken way of thinking and acting. We aren’t chained to old fears, insecurities, or doubts. We are no longer victims, failures, or prisoners of our past; we are conquerors, overcomers, and free in Christ. Our self-absorbed life is dead and buried. We’ve been set free from a life that’s all about “Me.”<br><br>Thirdly, being “cross-ified” is about embracing Jesus’ life. Paul said, “It's no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me.” Jesus died and rose again, not just so we could live, but so that He could live in us. This is the key to the Christian life! We aren’t doing our best to live like Jesus. We are trusting Jesus to live His life in us and through us.<br><br>Being "cross-ified" with Christ is a game-changing, life-transforming reality for every believer. It becomes the lens through which we see life. All the effects of the cross—forgiveness, new identity, and Jesus living in us—become the powerful and profound reality in our everyday lives.&nbsp;<br><br><b><i>So, do you see yourself as “Cross-ified” with Christ?</i></b></div></div></div></div></div></section>]]></content:encoded>

						<description><![CDATA[It’s one of the most enticing words in the English language. In fact, few words capture our attention, like the word "free." In fact, few words capture our attention, like the word "free." Whether it's a BOGO deal or that free 30-day trial, we are drawn to the promise of something valuable without a price tag.&nbsp;<br><br>The problem is very few things in life are actually free. There always seems to be some string attached, some catch intended to hook us into a long-term payment plan. However, there is one notable exception – the Gospel!<br><br>The Gospel is truly free! God offers us salvation, forgiveness, and reconciliation freely as a gift. We can’t earn it through good works or merit it through religious efforts. Instead, we simply open our hearts in faith and humbly receive the free gift of God.<br><br>But the Gospel isn’t cheap! Even though the Gospel is free for us, it came at the highest cost to God. The price was the life of His only beloved Son, Jesus. God's love for humanity is so profound that He was willing to sacrifice His Son to provide us with the gift of salvation.<br><br>This is why Paul is so astonished that the believers in Galatia abandoned the Gospel in favor of legalism. He writes, "I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— which is really no gospel at all" (Galatians 1:6–7).&nbsp;<br><br>They took the gift that God gave at the cost of His Son and tried to pay for it themselves. They put more value on their own effort than they did on Jesus’ sacrifice. They’d rather take credit than receive a free gift. They’d rather live under legalism than grace.&nbsp;<br><br>The problem with legalism is that we choose to live under it we tend to put others under it as well. We start pressuring people to conform and perform to our expectations. We get critical and judgmental when they don’t measure up. We end up turning the Gospel into something that is no longer free and no longer good news.<br><br><b><i>Let’s humbly and gratefully embrace the free gift of God so that we can offer it freely to others.</i></b> </div></div></div></div></div></section>]]></content:encoded>
